 Hello SR Bus Program Families,

Today on our blog, we'd like to address an important aspect of our school community: the conduct on our school buses.

It has come to our attention that there was a recent act of vandalism on one of our school buses - writing on a seat with a sharpie. While it might seem minor to some, it's essential to understand that maintaining a respectful and safe environment on our buses is crucial.

District bus rules are in place for the safety and well-being of all who use this service:

Damaging or defacing any part of the bus is strictly prohibited.

Bus drivers play a pivotal role in ensuring our students' safety during their commute. They are trained to monitor activities on the bus. To assist them in this endeavor, some of our buses are equipped with cameras.

Parents and guardians, we urge you to sit down with your child(ren) and discuss these rules, emphasizing the importance of respecting shared community spaces. It's worth noting that breaches in these guidelines may result in removal from the bus program by the District a consequence we hope to avoid.

Working together, we can ensure that our buses remain clean, safe and reliable transportation for all students. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, and we thank you for being an integral part of our SR Bus Program community.

There is a Special Meeting of the SRBC Officers scheduled for this Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 9:00AM in which we will be reviewing this issue and other bus safety matters. There will be no final votes on changes to bylaws nor policies instated at this special meeting. Meetings are open to the public and Members-at-Large will be in attendance. Draft minutes of the meeting will also be available on the SRBC Blog shortly following the meeting.
